DE-CIX challenges German surveillance powers

Internet exchange operator DE-CIX has filed a lawsuit against the Federal German Government to challenge the strategic monitoring of communications. DE-CIX is seeking a judicial review Paragraph 5 of the German federal law that regulates the surveillance powers of Germany's intelligence agencies. DE-CIX has received legal orders from the Federal Intelligence Service (BND) and has serious doubts about the legality of the current practice.
