Deutsche Bahn, mobile providers to replace train repeaters

Deutsche Bahn and the country's three mobile providers -Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone and Telefonica- have agreed to replace the existing mobile repeaters on ICE trains, wiwo.de reports. The exchange is due to start in the second quarter of next year. In addition to the ICE trains, double-decker intercity trains will be upgraded as well. The repeaters are yet to be built. Deutsche Bahn and the mobile providers also agreed to increase the capacity of the transmitter masts along the ICE tracks. The providers will cooperate to provide coverage inside of tunnels; in the open, each network operator
