Deutsche Telekom brings Living Edge Lab to Carnegie Mellon in US

Deutsche Telekom has partnered with mobile towers operator Crown Castle and vRAN services provider Altiostar to extend its Living Edge Lab (LEL), an ultra-low latency mobile testbed, to three sites based out of Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in Pittsburgh, PA. The partners aim is to build a real-world testbed for Edge Computing with leading edge applications and user acceptance technology. The lab should also help developers gain some early experience with the benefits of 5G, as the LEL's network design combines both vRAN and massive MIMO for applications requiring high bandwidth and
