Deutsche Telekom coaxes customers to switch to IP tech

Deutsche Telekom is progressing towards its goal of switching from analogue ISDN telephony to all-IP by 2018 by cancelling existing contracts, according to manager-magazine.de. It cited Telekom manager Ingo Hofacker as saying the plan is chiefly aimed at the first networks to switch to fast VDSL internet technology. These grids are being set up in 53 towns. Hofacker said about 300,000 customers are affected. Older networks are not compatible, he said.
