Deutsche Telekom confirms corruption investigation

Deutsche Telekom has confirmed that its CEO Rene Obermann is among eight people under investigation by the German state prosecutor in Bonn following allegations of bribery at Deutsche Telekom's subsidiaries in Hungary, Macedonia and Montenegro. Deutsche Telekom and Obermann rejected any allegations of involvement in criminal activity and said the company does not tolerate corruption in any area of its business. Wirtschaftwoche reported earlier that at the end of August, German investigators searched the office and house of Obermann as well as seven other people, including non-Deutsche Telekom
