Deutsche Telekom eyes 8 mln IP lines in Europe by end-2014

Deutsche Telekom aims to have around 8 million IP-based lines across its European footprint by end-2014. In Germany, around 2.1 million lines have already been converted to IP, with Telekom looking to double the number of IP connections in 2014. It aims to transform the entire network in Germany to IP technology by end-2018. Across the EU operating segment, Telekom has migrated around 2.7 million lines to IP. It has activated an all-IP network at subsidiary Makedonski Telekom in Macedonia, with Slovakia to follow by end-2014, Croatia, Montenegro and Hungary in 2015, and Romania, Greece and
