Deutsche Telekom goes live with Access 4.0 platform

Thursday 14 January 2021 | 10:55 CET | News
Deutsche Telekom said that its Access4.0 (A4) platform is live, replacing conventional hard-wired systems by open, disaggregated, automated and microservice-based technologies. Access 4.0 is used initially on Deutsche Telekom's broadband internet access network for FTTH/B, with the first site going live in Stuttgart at the end of 2020. A4 should in future be able to support other applications at the network edge, especially in the 5G and Open RAN environment, the German operator said.
