Deutsche Telekom said it has built a radio relay network as back-up for air traffic control on the archipelago of Helgoland in the North Sea, which is part of the state of Schleswig-Holstein. Telekom has built the Skylink network between the island's Oberland and Cuxhaven. It is 64 km long and can transfer data at up to 1 Gbps. In order to connect Helgoland with Cuxhaven via radio relay, Telekom has installed two antennas on the 113 meter-high radio tower.
