Deutsche Telekom launches WhatsApp news service

Deutsche Telekom is launching a new, free digital news service using WhatsApp. With immediate effect, WhatsApp users can subscribe to the Telekom channel for free to keep up to date with all news about innovations, products, network themes and important company and industry news. They will be able to comment on news, giving direct feedback to the company. Telekom claims it is the first DAX30 company to use WhatsApp for corporate communications.

I wonder why they didn't use Threema, which is very popular in Germany (and, as opposed to WhatsApp, it's secure).
