Deutsche Telekom plans EUR 18.4 bln investment in fibre, 5G expansion in 2021

Deutsche Telekom plans to invest EUR 18.4 billion this year in expanding fibre and 5G networks, CEO Timotheus Hoettges said in a press conference to introduce the company's financial results for 2020, Handelsblatt reports. The sum does not include funds deployed for mobile frequencies. The company intends to finance projects in Germany to the tune of over EUR 5.5 billion and by 2024, annual spending in Germany will increase to EUR 6 billion.
