Digicel Panama secures spectrum in 700MHz band

Panama's public services authority ASEP has announced the grant of 2×10MHz blocks of 700MHz spectrum to local operator Digicel at a cost of USD 22.6 million. Digicel triggered a clause included in its concession contract of 2008 to obtain further spectrum under the National Frequency Allocation Plan, said ASEP, adding that the company now has until the end of January 2019 to activate the frequencies.
