Digital experts of German CDU/CSU criticise EU copyright reform

Friday 22 February 2019 | 09:42 CET | News
Digital experts of the German CDU/CSU parliamentary group have criticised the reform of the copyright law at EU level, Heise Online reports. Tankrid Schipanski, digital policy spokesman of the CDU/CSU group, is sceptical in particular about the liability of online platforms with user-generated content proposed in the new law, the report added. Operators of online platforms with user-generated content are liable for unauthorised publication of copyrighted works, according to the new law.
