Digital personal transport models could cut car numbers

Thursday 30 June 2016 | 19:22 CET | News

The study suggests that consumer trends towards 'on demand' access rather than product ownership is prompting car makers to examine ride-on-demand business models. If combined with smart vehicles and smart roads and cities, these business models could lead to fewer and more efficient journeys, reducing journeys in private cars overall by 360 billion km per year
