Digital Scotland expands to 20,000 more premises

An extra 20,000 homes and businesses across Scotland will be reached by the next phase of the GBP 410 million Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband programme. These additional premises are located in 16 local authority areas across the country, in more than 40 communities. The first fibre broadband connections will start to go live by spring 2016 as Openreach engineers work on the ground. The Digital Scotland roll-out has now passed more than 455,000 premises since it started in 2014, and it halfway to its target of making the technology available to 750,000 properties by end-March 2018.
