Digital Scotland names 67 more locations for fibre rollout

Digital Scotland has announced the latest phase of the GBP 410 million Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband programme, bringing fibre connectivity to 67 locations and over 80,000 homes in 15 new communities. These include 15 communities in the Highlands and Islands, as well as over 40,000 more premises in Glasgow, Renfrewshire, Ayreshire, Lanarkshire and Dunbartonshire. The first premises in these locations are due to benefit from up to 80 Mbps fibre broadband during spring 2015. The rollout is being handled by BT Openreach. The operator is investing GBP 126 million in the partnership
