DirecTV preparing USD 3.1 billion debt offering

DirecTV Entertainment, part of AT&T, has announced a proposed offering of USD 3.1 billion worth of senior secured notes due 2027. Money raised from the transaction will be used to pay down intracompany debt owed to AT&T and to help pay for expenses connected with DirecTV's upcoming separation from its parent.
