Disabled consumers have lower internet access levels - Ofcom

The latest research from UK regulator Ofcom shows that access to communication devices and services in the home is generally lower among consumers with a disability than among those without. Two exceptions to this were landline telephony and free-to-air TV in the home. Take-up of each of these among disabled consumers was higher than among non-disabled consumers. The largest gap in access to devices and services in 2014 between disabled and non-disabled consumers was for internet access (65% and 88% respectively). Access to smartphones in the home increased by 14pp (to 41%) among disabled
