District court keeps verdict on Cox in favour of BMG

A US district federal court said it will not change the outcome of a USD 25 million verdict in favour of BMG Rights Management against Cox Communications, the Hollywood Reported said. The judge explained that the case presents the question of whether a conduit ISP can be held liable for the infringing activity of its subscribers, based on the uploading and downloading of copyrighted musical works using peer-to-peer file sharing network BitTorrent.
