DoJ investigates AT&T, Verizon, GSMA for possible eSim collusion

The US Justice Department (DoJ) s looking into whether AT&T, Verizon and GSMA made it difficult for people to easily switch mobile carriers by blocking or hindering the use of eSims, the New York Times reported, citing six sources with knowledge of the inquiry. The DoJ asked the parties in February for information on potential collusion to thwart eSim, a technology that lets people remotely switch mobile provider without having to insert a new Sim card into a device, two of the sources said.
