Dominican operators join GSMA stolen mobile initiative

Thursday 10 September 2015 | 15:40 CET | News
The GSMA has announced that Dominican Republic mobile operators Claro, Orange and Viva, together with the country's telecoms regulator Indotel, have signed an agreement to join the "We Care" initiative to combat mobile phone theft. As part of the deal, the mobile operators will connect to the GSMA stolen devices database, which allows them to exchange IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) information and block devices reported as stolen on other networks.
