Dominican Republic aims for 70% internet users by 2020

The coordinator of the National Commission for the Information Society and Knowledge (CNSIC), Mirna Gonzalez, said that the percentage of internet users in 2015 in the Dominican Republic amounted to 53.5 percent and the target for 2020 is 70 percent. The percentage of households with internet access was 23.6 percent in 2015 and the goal set for within four years is 36 percent. Last year there were 30 percent of households with PCs, a figure set to grow to 40 percent in 2020.
