DoT panel: no evidence to support mobile radiation claims

A Department of Telecommunications committee says there is no conclusive evidence that radiation from mobile towers causes cancer. The panel rejected claims by Girish Kumar, a professor in the electrical engineering department of the Indian Institute of Technology in Mumbai, about the dangers of mobile tower radiation, PTI writes.The committee said there is no scientific evidence to back the assertions. The Department of Telecommunications was asked by the Allahabad High Court to set up the committee to study the impact of mobile tower radiation following a petition by Kumar. The committee
