Draka mulling takeover alternatives as cable market recovers

Dutch cable producer Draka said in a trading update that it still considers the bid for the company by Nexans to be "inadequate" and that it has initiated a review of its strategic alternatives, including continuing the stated stand-alone strategy. Draka said that recovery in demand was gaining momentum and that market conditions were improving in both communication and industry-related cable activities.
