DRC demands price transparency in telecom services

Democratic Republic of Congo ICT minister Triphon Kin Kiey Mulumba and finance minister Jean-Paul Nemoyato, signed a decree defining the role of communication services and setting rules on telecom service pricing. The regulations require transparency with respect to tariffs on offer and establish fines of XAF 500,000 to XAF 1.5 million. The telecom regulator maintains the right to withdraw operating licences to any infractor to the rules set in the text of the decree.
