Dublin, Sligo city councils team up with Connect on roadmap for 5G economic opportuniities

The aim of the discussion document, called "5G and Future Connectivity: An Emerging Framework for Irish Cities and Towns", is for Ireland to remain competitive in the field and suggest a National Working Group to achieve this. The document also evaluates deployment options for the rollout of 5G, and notes the attractiveness of the 'Neutral Host' model for local authorities across Ireland. The document draws on findings from an online survey of telecoms vendors, mobile operators, and local authority broadband officers.
