Dutch FTTH market to reach 3.5 mln homes passed in 2017

The Dutch FTTH market expanded to 1.45 million homes passed at the end of 2012. Of the total, 483,000 lines were actually used (homes activated), according to Telecompaper's annual FTTH report. The ratio of homes activated versus homes passed increased from 30 to 33 percent last year. Telecompaper now estimates 3.47 million FTTH lines by 2017. Reggefiber is the market leader with an 89 percent share of homes passed, although its main competitor CIF added 5 percent to its market share to a total of 8 percent.
