Dutch mobile operators stop reporting bad debtors

Friday 8 April 2011 | 11:34 CET | News
The mobile operators Vodafone, KPN, T-Mobile and Telfort will no longer work with Dutch Credit Registration Bureau (BKR), the bureau announced. The operators stopped registering bad debtors with the bureau from 1 January 2011. The bureau said it regrets the situation, as experience shows that late payers for mobile services form a high-risk group with other financial problems. The bureau and other stakeholders have tried to convince the operators to change their stance, saying it's important to have a broader insight into the market than just companies working directly with the bureau.
