Dutch parliament holds expert hearing on 5G and 3.5 GHz band

The Dutch parliament held an expert hearing on 29 March on 5G developments. Ahead of the session, ten companies submitted position papers on the need to make the 3.5 GHz band available, while 12 speakers have their opinions at the hearing. The three largest mobile operators want the spectrum released for their use, while other stakeholders, such as the satellite sector and municipalities, see it as a possible solution to improving broadband access in areas without fast fixed networks. The lower house of parliament has already passed a motion calling for the government to work on freeing up
