Dutch regulator opens consultation on free choice for modems

Wednesday 8 July 2020 | 13:24 CET | News
People can connect their own modem, router or media box to the network of their telecom provider, Dutch regulator ACM said in a policy draft. With the policy rule, ACM provides clarity to telecom providers and consumers about which part of the network is owned by the telecom provider and which part is the free choice of the consumer. The regulator said the policy will ensure people have more freedom of choice in the telecom market. The Dutch regulator has opened the draft for comments and will accept submissions until 4 September.
