EarthLink acquires xDefenders

US operator EarthLink has completed the acquisition of US-based managed IT security company xDefenders. The acquisition adds important components to EarthLink's IT security platform. xDefenders enhances EarthLink's security capacities and provides a backup Security Operations Center (SOC) in Rochester, New York from its primary SOC in Columbia, South Carolina. xDefenders will become part of EarthLink's managed services business under the leadership of Brian Fink, EarthLink executive vice president of managed services. xDefenders's VP of business development Jeff Thon and vice president of
