East Africa to harmonise ICT sector, laws to attract investments

The Communication Authority of Kenya (CA) says the East African Community (EAC) member states of Burundi, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda plan to harmonize their ICT in order to attract more foreign investments in the region. CA director-general Francis Wangusi said the six partner states have small fragmented markets that have limited appeal to foreign investors. He said the EAC countries have started initiatives to harmonise all ICT sector laws in order to create a seamless regional market of over 160 million consumers.
