East African countries to cooperate in the ICT sector

The East African countries have resolved to cooperate in the development of the ICT sector. Kenyan ICT Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i told a technology forum in Nairobi that joint regional policies will attract more investments. He said a single East African Community (EAC) market of more than 100 million people will become a lucrative destination for international and regional companies.Matiang'i said ICT ministers from EAC member states Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi are set to meet in December to discuss ways of increasing cross-border collaboration.
