EC considers tax of up to 5% of revenues on tech giants - report

The European Union is considering a tax of up to 5 percent on the revenues of multinational digital service providers, according to European Commission documents seen by Reuters. The proposal is part of plans to tax digital companies like Google and Facebook where their users are located rather than where they are headquartered, in order to increase tax returns from the providers.
