EC launches EUR 121 mln guarantee scheme for European SMEs

The European Commission and the European Investment Fund (EIF) have announced the launch of a EUR 121 million guarantee initiative to support SMEs in the cultural and creative sectors via financial institutions. The financial instrument, set-up under Creative Europe programme, will be managed by the EIF on behalf of the EC and is set to support more than 10,000 SMEs in a wide range of sectors. The EC added that the scheme is expected to create more than EUR 600 million worth of bank loans over the next six years.
