eCard joins mobile payment initiative of Polish banks

eCard has joined the project of six Polish banks to create a common standard for mobile payments, reports Media2.pl. This expands the network of terminals accepting mobile payments by additional 900 ATMs labeled with the eCard sign. eCard aggregates internet payments in about 2,500 shops, in which customers can already use the application IKO PKO Bank Polski. In the first stage, the functions will be available only to PKO bank customers using the application IKO, and after a common standard for mobile payments is created, also to the other users of the system.
