Eco wants better legal basis for more public WLAN

The German Internet Business Federation (eco) supports improvements of legal security for WLAN providers recently anticipated by the Federal Government in the Digital Agenda. According to a recent eco study, only 15,000 of the approximately 1 million public WLAN hotspots in Germany are openly accessible without registration or identification. One reason for this low number is partial liability that could hold providers liable for rights infringements by third parties.
