Zimbabwean operator Econet Wireless has introduced a facility letting subscribers buy electricity on credit, ZimPrice Check reports. ZESA electricity tokens on credit can be accessed via USSD code 179, although the feature may not be available to everyone, as certain conditions must be met. Customers can now buy electricity in small units on credit from as little as ZWD 50 in what appears to be a pilot programme, and the company may introduce higher amounts in future.
