Econet Wireless disconnects 1 mln subscribers

Econet Wireless Zimbabwe has disconnected 1 million unregistered lines, CAJ News reported. The company, which has some 9 million subscribers, was also the first mobile network operator in the country to pay a renewal licence fee of USD 137.5 million, CAJ News reported. Other networks such as Telecel Zimbabwe, which took long to heed the government licence renewal call, had its operating licence suspended by the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ).
