Econet Wireless says economic situation hits telecom business

Econet Wireless Zimbabwe CEO Douglas Mboweni says the current economic situation is affecting telecommunications service delivery, reports Technomag. It has been hit by the devaluation of the local currency and introduction of the ZimDollar as the sole legal tender, coupled with power cuts. Mboweni said the cost of fuel has gone up by 500 percent  and the local currency has lost over 900 percent in value.
