Econet Zimbabwe defends hike in data charges

Friday 13 January 2017 | 09:48 CET | News
Econet Wireless has defended its increase in data prices, saying they are in compliance with a directive from the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (Potraz) to all mobile operators in the country. It said the new floor pricing of data adhered to the directive was issued to all mobile network operators by the industry regulator. It added that Econet Wireless was "engaging the regulator on the matter" as it was feeling "the pain" that subscribers are experiencing.
