Ecuador to get largest fibre optic cable factory in LatAm

Ecuador's Minister of Telecommunications and the Information Society, Jaime Guerrero, has taken part in a ceremony to lay the first stone for a fibre optic cable factory for Latam Fiberhome, a joint venture by Teleconet and foreign strategic partner Fiberhome Telecommunication. The cable factory will be Latin America's largest and will mean that national companies and ISPs will no longer have to import the material, significantly reducing operating costs.
