EE secures GBP 350 million loan from EIB

UK mobile network group EE has tapped the European Investment Bank (EIB) for a GBP 350 million loan. The company intends to use the funds to boost the height of its masts to help them support new 4G services, reports The Telegraph. An unnamed company source told the paper that higher masts were needed in rural areas to fully exploit the properties of low-frequency spectrum. Its masts currently have an average height of 15 mt, with EE expected to double many of them to around 30 mt.
