EE sponsors Wi-Fi tractor at Glastonbury

Monday 24 June 2013 | 11:19 CET | News
UK operator EE announced plans to offer Wi-Fi service from a modified tractor at the Glastonbury music festival. A New Holland tractor owned by the festival's host Worthy Farm will be used to create the world's "slowest fastest" 4G hotspot. EE is installing a 4G network on site, and visitors to the festival will be able to access the mobile broadband free over a Wi-Fi connection with the tractor. The tractor is powered using eco-friendly bio-diesel fuel and offers a Wi-Fi range of 10m. Its location will be tweeted throughout the festival.
