EE to open Bafta red carpet with 5G-powered AR dress

Monday 27 January 2020 | 16:04 CET | News
UK operator EE announced it will be opening the Bafta film awards red carpet, at the Royal Albert Hall in London, with TV and radio presenter Maya Jama wearing a 5G-powered augmented reality (AR) dress. EE said that the dress, designed by multi-disciplinary artist Richard Malone, will transform as Jama walks the red carpet, "coming to life" via the latest Samsung Galaxy Fold 5G smartphones. Smartphones will be situated along the red carpet to capture the AR transformation and provide an immersive view for onlookers. A finale will take place at the end of the red carpet.
