Egypt raises stamp duty tax on telecom services

The Egyptian government has raised the stamp duty tax on telecom services from July, Ahram Online reported. This is the first increase since the introduction of the tax in 2012. Monthly stamp duty for prepaid services rises to EGP 0.67 from EGP 0.51 and postpaid users will pay an annual duty of EGP 8.00 instead of EGP 6.10, according to telecom operators.
