Eircom rebrands as 'eir', launches 1 Gbps fibre broadband

Irish telecoms company Eircom has announced its rebranding as 'eir'. CEO Richard Moat said that the new 'eir' identity was dynamic and modern and reflected the company's ambition to become a dynamic and progressive organisation providing high-quality infrastructure and services. Key to the rebrand is the launch of a new 1 Gbps broadband service, which Moat claims is the fastest in Ireland. Over the coming weeks, the company also plans to launch 24/7 broadband and TV technical support for customers. The change to eir will not impact Meteor, which will remain as a standalone brand within the
