El Salvador operators agree measures to protect customers

The El Salvador operators Claro, Digicel, Movistar and Tigo signed an agreement with the national government, the General Superintendency of Electricity and Telecommunications (Siget) and the GSMA to protect mobile phone users nationwide. The agreement has three goals: to reduce theft of mobile phones through the implementation of a verification system of stolen devices, work together with the authorities in responding to natural disasters, and promote the rights of children and adolescents with a program that will broadcast alerts via SMS and messages on social networks and websites in case
