Elisa to upgrade network in Southern Estonia

Estonian mobile operator Elisa announced plans to install additional LTE equipment on 35 base stations in Southern Estonia in March and April. Upgrade works are planned to be carried out on 89 base stations.

A second carrier will be added to 81 LTE base stations in the Valga, Polva and Voru counties, helping to double or triple the mobile internet speed there to an average 200-275 Mbps.

The third carrier band will be added to five base stations having higher workload, taking the broadband speed to 375 Mbps there.     

The LTE network of the operator works on the 800 MHz, 1,800 MHz and 2,600 MHz bands.
