Eltel signs optical fibre contract with Huawei

Eltel signed a major contract in Ethiopia with Huawei Technologies, one of the leading telecommunication equipment providers in the African market. The contract includes the installation of approximately 1,600 kilometres of Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) on existing power transmission lines. The installation will be carried out on live line conditions, for the first time in Ethiopia. The project is planned to be completed by end of 2015.
