Embratel Star One launches biggest satellite in fleet

Embratel Star One has launched the largest satellite in its fleet, the Star One D1, which will provide new capacity in Brazil and the Americas. The satellite, worth over USD 400 million, is equipped with C, Ku and Ka Bands and will be used for new internet services and low-cost broadband via satellite. It will be the ninth satellite in the operator's fleet (Star One C1, C2, C3, C4 and C12, plus the Brasilsat B2, B3 and B4).
